“Mr. Clean. The next best thing to white. Paid for by Biden for President 2008.”

Here is the original Mr. Clean. According to Wikipedia information,
Mr. Clean is a brand name fully owned by Procter & Gamble of a popular cleaning product…Mr. Clean made its debut on the market in 1958. Within the first six months of the introduction, Mr. Clean became the best selling household cleaner on the market…In the spring of 1966 Mr. Clean played “two-fisted” grime fighter, who knocked out dirt with one hand and left the shine with the other.

And here is what generated Senator Joe Biden’s Mr. Clean analogy about Senator Barack Obama. He later explained to Chris Matthews of MSNBC TV’s Hardball, on February 1, 2007:
“I mean, you’ve got the first mainstream African-American who’s articulate, bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook man.”
Biden says he was complimenting Obama in February 2007. Others see an about face in August 2008.
Hard feelings aside, Obama probably found need and comfort in Biden. He could actually help him now. He could do some work for him now. According to the LA Times August 23 2008, Joe Biden Quick To Enter The Fray,
Moments after Obama, the presumed Democratic presidential nominee, introduced Biden to a roaring crowd of supporters, the six-term senator from Delaware ripped into their opponent, tying McCain again and again to the unpopular President Bush.
“You can’t change America when you supported George Bush’s policies 95% of the time,” Biden declared, his suit jacket cast aside in the sweltering heat.
Even as he expressed admiration for Republican McCain, a longtime friend and Senate colleague from Arizona, Biden said, “I say with every fiber of my being, I believe we cannot as a nation stand for four more years of this.”
Party leaders heading to the Democratic National Convention, which starts Monday in Denver, enthusiastically embraced the new ticket and Biden’s aggressive language after watching Obama’s once-commanding lead slip away in recent national polls
Now the senior Senator Biden has become an attack machine for the junior Senator Obama, quickly jumping into action on his behalf, while he and the management watch from the comfort of the sidelines.
