Cindy McCain went on ABC’s TV’s “This Week” on Sunday August 31, 2008 to stand up for her man and his Vice Presidential running mate.
On John McCain, she disagrees “that her husband is out of touch with most Americans because of the eight homes their family owns.”
My husband was a Navy boy. His father and mother were in the Navy. I mean, there’s nothing elitist about that,” she said.
On Sarah Palin,
Reminded that Democrats are calling Palin too inexperienced to be a heartbeat away from the presidency, she responded by saying that Palin’s son is about be deployed to Iraq.
“I asked her, how do you feel about this? This is two things you have to do, is not only possibly be a vice presidential candidate, but also, you know, listen, to worry about your son,” Cindy McCain recounted of her conversation with Palin before the vice presidential announcement. “And she looked me square in the eye and she said, ‘You know something? I’m a mother. I can do it.’“
And lo, the greatest fear of the Democratic Party has now materialized!

Not only can she she simultaneously manage a husband, 5 children of which one is an infant, and a household, with only the wherewithal a mother has, but she can also run the largest state in the U.S. as Governor of Alaska. Tough minded reformer of old school politics, corruption, taxes, and wasteful spending. She actually passed and vetoed bills for the state of Alaska. Not just voted “present.” Oh yeah, she can also run, hunt, fish, play basketball, snowmobile, play the flute, win beauty contests, finish college, get married, have children, and fly her own plane. Wikipedia and Uppity Woman have revealed so much.
Not enough foreign policy experience? Think again. Hot Air notes she governs,
“the only state that borders two foreign nations and is isolated from the rest of the nation by one of them, Palin has to work in that arena on some level in order to govern Alaska.”
The only drawback will be the limited time she has served in executive office — just under two years — but that still beats the Democratic presidential nominee, and unlike Obama, she has an actual track record of reform and taking on her own party to get it.
Kudos to Sarah Palin for being a mother AND the Governor of Alaska who is now John McCain’s Vice Presidential running mate.
