“Please, Pass The Buck.”

No accountability. Presidential hopeful, Senator Barack Obama is not Harry Truman by any stretch of the imagination. Nope. For Harry Truman was famously known for, “The buck stops here.” The concept that responsibility and accountability are foremost in government. Obama, for all of his rhetoric about wasteful governmental spending, does not seem to remember the waste in his own backyard, that he could have helped manage better.
Yid With Lid via Newsbusters put together a nice summary about a campaign volunteer who gave $550 to Obama’s state senate and congressional campaigns, and in return got $100,000 in state money to create a botanic garden in one of Chicago’s most blighted neighborhoods, that today remains an area filled with weeds, garbage, and broken pavement surrounding a gazebo and some cut down trees. Lots of excuses and discussion about the progress and the work in progress. But ultimately, as the photo shows below, not too much to show for 100 grand! The article is a must read!

The larger point is this: The guy is hopelessly gullible, can’t even get a $100,000 grant right, and now wants to have the final say in matters relating to a $3-plus trillion federal budget and a $14-trillion economy in a town chock full of con artists and tricksters.
Moral of the story: be careful who is anointed with the keys to the coffers. Obama’s public servant history leaves a lot of questions about his responsibility and accountability to the tune of at least, a known $100,000.

That is a very expensive gazebo. I would speak to the Better Business Bureau about this.
