Kim Jong-Il Spotted Endorsing Obama

Has anyone seen Kim Jong-Il?  The Guardian and the BBC have pictures up of North Korea’s leader at a football match.  But that was from November 2, 2008.  Apparently, the great Communist leader has been MIA for quite some time now.  Official appearances have been a challenging find so far, despite images released from North Korea’s official state-run media.  The images show him wearing his trademark sunglasses in a spectator box, but no players at the game.

Some say the 66-year old is being treated for some sort of neurological problem, such as a stroke.  It is unclear as the media mavens in North Korea have not released any information and continue to describe him as doing well and in good health.  The New York Times notes the following.

According to Yonhap News, Kim Sung-ho, the director of the National Intelligence Service, told lawmakers that the North Korean leader had recovered enough to start performing his daily duties.

Reports have surfaced of treatment by a French neurosurgeon.

Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso said last week that Mr Kim was probably still in hospital, but capable of making decisions.

So in the spirit of keeping Kim Jong-Il alive and in the media spotlight, the following image of the Communist is provided.  Carefully concocted in the spirit of North Korea’s media of course.  He can continue to recover at his own pace, knowing the world is thinking about him, and egging him on at his exercises.  He can set his recovery goal of sitting with Barack Obama soon, under no preconditions.  Obama himself said he would meet Iran “without preconditions.”  What’s meeting with another rogue leader, after all.  Kim Jong-Il endorsed Obama in June 2008, from One Free Korea via Michelle Malkin.

This should keep Jong-Il’s spirit and presence alive for awhile longer.  Until the next carefully crafted image is released.
