Michelle Obama Fashion Sense Origin

This explains EVERYTHING at those entertaining minds at Hillbuzz, takes the Michelle Obama fashionista style to another dimension.

According to PerezHilton, the reason Michelle Obama looked the way she did last night at the Inaugural Balls is because the man who designed her Wilma Flinstone Marries Mr. Coffee dress, Jason Wu, is better known for designing gowns for transexuals and female impersonators, such as drag queen par excellence RuPaul Charles.

This is a must click post to place the satirical image below in perspective.   Don’t miss out!

Presidential Transition Wall Street Blues Affects Europe

Let’s hope the first full day of the Obama presidency goes significantly better for Wall Street than on the day of the Inauguration, where Markets Greet Obama With Worst Inauguration Day Selloff In History.  Dow down over 4 per cent, and S&P 500 and NASDAQ more than 5 per cent.  Now there is Stocks tumble on fresh worries about banks.

Fears about banking eclipsed the shift in Washington. Royal Bank of Scotland’s forecast for what would be the biggest loss ever for a British corporation left investors fearful that government’s would have to nationalize banks to keep them from collapsing. The British government injected more money into the struggling bank Monday and announced another round of bailouts for the country’s banks.

Time to forget about all that hopium and hype and and start cracking down on the problems of the nation at hand.

If Obama really wants to make history, he will fare better with setting into motion the corrections to the enormous problems at hand on day one, than coasting along on the tired hope, change, and history mantra for the next four years.

Time to get to work.  At a real job.

Chilly Winds Between Carter And Clinton At Inauguration

Too bad the frosty relations between the ex Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton were on view today.  Reportedly.  Carter ‘Snubs’ Clinton? at ABC News Political Radar gives us a reporter’s view on the seemingly chilly behavior between the two today at the inauguration, just before the ex Presidents were to head out from the Capitol.  Plainly, Carter greets George H.W. Bush and wife Barbara, even pecking her on the cheek.  Yet gazes straight ahead as he walks past Clinton.  Clinton likewise continuing his gaze off sides.  Carter denies the snub.

  • George Washington was inaugurated in New York City on the balcony of Federal Hall, on Thursday, April 30, 1789.  He set the precedents by ad-libbing “so help me God” and a kiss on the Bible.  His svelte attire for the day, Dark brown suit (made in America), with steel-hilted sword, white silk stockings, and silver shoe buckles.
  • 1837 – Martin Van Buren was the first President who was not born a British subject.
  • 1841 - William Henry Harrison was the first president to arrive in Washington by train.  He also gave the longest address, 8,445 words that lasted almost 2 hours.  He died of pneumonia 1 month later.  The shortest address was by George Washington at 135 words.
  • 1845 – James K. Polk had the first Inauguration covered by telegraph, and the first known Inauguration featured in a newspaper illustration (Illustrated London News).
  • 1850 to current - Tennessee’s Johnston & Murphy has gifted handmade shoes to every new president, starting with Millard Fillmore. Lincoln’s shoe size has taken biggest size honors yet, at size 14.

  • 1925 – Calvin Coolidge had the first Inauguration broadcast live by radio.

  • 1997- Bill Clinton had the first Inauguration broadcast live on the internet.
