Human Ingenuity Shovel

Human ingenuity is what has fueled survival since inception.   Sometimes making life just a little easier, and sometimes making monumental leaps.  Sometimes making a small local splash, and sometimes making worldwide revolutionary change.

As the adage goes, “Need is the mother of invention.”

Folk Forms in Russia in the arsenal.

“Lopatkos. инструмент, лопата на костыле. Tool, shovel on the crutch.”

Clever use of materials that still have use, but only if modified.  From the Soviet Union.  A shovel is mounted to a metallic crutch.

The Change We Need According To Obama Is Not Change After All

Stuart Shepard discusses all the hope and change promised by Barack Obama before he was President.  Now that he is President, we see just what he meant about change.

The greatest risk we can take is to try the same old politics with the same old players and expect a different result.   The change we need doesn’t come from Washington, change comes TO Washington.

Some change.  Obama’s “new” Washington players, aren’t so new as he would have led anyone to believe.  Bill Clinton had appointed these players before in his administration.

Leon Panetta.  Rahm Emanuel.  Robert Reich.  Eric Holder.  Carol Browner.  Susan Rice.

Barack Obama said it himself.

The same old politics with the same old players… the same old politics.

He could not have said it better himself.  Welcome to Obama’s “change” in Washington players.
