All Barack Channel Sales Pitch Challenged By Doctors

June 25, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Insane the idea of trying to ram rod legislation that could alter in such a major way, health care in this country.  But that is exactly what the White House is planning on doing.  Barack Obama’s incessant penchant for reminding all how he won the election and how he is the president, seems to be his mantra for trying to force his will upon the country.  A basic premise in the U.S. is freedom of expression.  The ability to debate the merits and weaknesses of proposed legislation dates back to the inception of this country.  A worthy concept that at the minimum, gives both sides on an issue the chance to be heard, and the decision makers and those affected to provide feedback.

Unimaginable, up until June 24, 2009, was the notion that a major television network, would overtly participate with the president in a joint effort to have a discussion on the legislation the president has in mind that will affect millions of Americans,  and only have chosen participants in the audience to provide some questions.  Opponents and dissenting voices not welcome.  Their requests for inclusion declined.  The spirited and knowledgeable debate that would occur during such a one hour televised presidential “town hall forum,” blatantly absent.  Thus, the infomercial idea gains credibility.  And ABC television, a.k.a. the All Barack Channel,  becomes a paid minion to take the stage with the president hawking his legislative agenda that would fundamentally change the way in which health care is delivered.

In spite of all the lavish attempts to force the agenda, there were two physicians who questioned the president and dragged out the reality that not all is as he proclaims.  Likewise exposing his attempt to castigate public hesitancy on his weak plans as fear of the unknown.

…the American people “know they’re living with the devil, but the devil they know instead of the devil they don’t.”

ABC’s Jake Tapper and Karen Travers found how Mr. Obama “struggled to explain” his health care reform, whether it would ultimately yield a different health care those less powerful and less wealthy, than their more affluent counterparts who could afford better coverage.

Dr. Orrin Devinsky, a neurologist and researcher at the New York University Langone Medical Center, said that elites often propose health care solutions that limit options for the general public, secure in the knowledge that if they or their loves ones get sick, they will be able to afford the best care available, even if it’s not provided by insurance.

Devinsky asked the president pointedly if he would be willing to promise that he wouldn’t seek such extraordinary help for his wife or daughters if they became sick and the public plan he’s proposing limited the tests or treatment they can get.

The president refused to make such a pledge, though he allowed that if “it’s my family member, if it’s my wife, if it’s my children, if it’s my grandmother, I always want them to get the very best care.

How convenient.  Dodge the answer because it could prove the damaging true nature of the Obama health care agenda too early in the sales pitch.

A Hot Air commenter, AZCoyote, had quite the precise take on the matter.  The wool Mr. Obama is trying to pull over America’s eyes.

According to powerlineblog, the Democrats’ proposed plans specifically exempt all federal employees from coverage under the “public plans” being proposed.

Obama and the Democratic congress want to shove the rest of us into a crappy public plan, but they make damn sure that they and their families won’t have to be in it with us. That fact alone should tell everyone everything they need to know about this scam.

Guess what, Obama? The rest of us want our family members to get the very best care too. That’s why we’re not going to support your BS plan.
