Palin resignation shocks Alaska, nation at the Anchorage Daily News. She will be resigning her position July 26, 2009. In line for the position will be Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell.
Palin did not give specific reasons, but did list her accomplishments. See full transcript.
If Parnell’s statement is any indication of what Palin’s reasons for resigning, then there are certainly some significant reasons.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I hear those words,” Parnell said of Palin’s resignation announcement. “I profoundly respect your decision for I know the depth of character and integrity that brought you to that. Rare indeed are such selfless acts, in a public arena.
His credibility in his assessment of Palin’s rationale is worthy, for he himself has been privvy to working with Palin for quite some time now. Her reasons will surface and the justification will become known.
Some may never be completely satisified however. Perhaps the blogger at Firedoglake who photoshopped the Palins as satanic, would be wise to heed Parnell’s words. Doug Ross has the image, thusly demonstrating the juvenile, irresponsible, and hateful nature of that blogger.
