Democrats Quietly Call Game On For Tax Increase

House Democrats Will Seek Massive $540 Billion Tax Increase—Announcement Came Late Friday Afternoon

Despite a still-lagging U.S. economy and rising unemployment rate, House Democrats announced late yesterday that they will seek a massive increase in federal income taxes to help pay for the national health-care reform proposal that President Obama is urging Congress to enact this summer.

Something about how Obama stated he would NOT raise taxes during the election season, comes to mind.

But then again, those are just promises.  And politicians are not surprisingly good at keeping their promises.  Checkmate Obama.

Is America finally awakening to the cruel reality that the Democrats will raise taxes in order to pay for their political agenda?

Road rage attacks are an unfortunate result of people not being able to control their emotions under challenging circumstances.

Gawking At The G8 Summit

Seems like the Italian Corriere Della Sera had no problems calling the recent image at TMZ what it is; Lo sguardo “indiscreto” di Obama.  Loose translation: Obama’s indiscreet  glance.

Neither did the German Bild, with Oh là là – US President snapped checking out delegate’s bum!   Or the Calgary Herald, with Photo catches wandering eyes of Obama, Sarkozy.

Reading Legislation Completely Prior To Vote Humorous

Democratic Leader Laughs at Idea That House Members Would Actually Read Health-Care Bill Before Voting On It from CNS News shines a sad light upon one particular leader in Congress who finds the very idea of actually completely reading a bill up for a vote, humorous.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D – MD) appears to believe that the task would be onerous, particularly a lengthy bill.  And primarily any upcoming health care legislation.  He would not expect the vast majority of his fellow congressman to plow through a lengthy bill before being called upon to vote.

Amendment To Require On Line Office Expeditures Pending

Coburn amendment would require online expenditures from The Hill, brings us a rather interesting amendment to an appropriations bill soon coming up for a vote.

Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) would like to see Senate office expeditures available on line to the public.  Fascinating since Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has already been supportive of publishing the House’s office expeditures on line to facilitate public access.  This is in contrast to the current system that entails requesting the accounting information from bound books that can be accessed through certain government offices.  The old fashioned way, in old fashioned time consuming method.
