Something to ponder.
A century ago President Teddy Roosevelt put it this way. He said:
“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag… We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language … and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”
That is how we have built one great nation from the people of all the nations of the world.

He nailed it! And I absolutely love the T Roosevelt quote.
If you want to be an American- come and BE an American! As many generations have done and are continuing to do. If you want to remain a Mexican, then by God- stay in Mexico and fix your problems with your government and economy- don’t impose them on us.
McClintock has touched on many a thorny issue. This is not going away. And the law is on his side.
Excellent! That was the most articulate argument that I’ve seen on this issue to date. He said it all and the Teddy Roosevelt quote was perfect. I wish Calderon would take care of his own country and its people instead of expecting us to take care of them. I wish Arizona would get a bunch of buses, load ‘em up with the Mexicans in their jails and drive them over the border and drop them off on Calderon’s front doorstep. Let him take care of his criminals.
Any further illegals should be picked up and driven to the White House…drop them all off on the White House lawn, Michelle can share her vegetable garden with them.
Wow Nunly, that is an intense punishment for the illegals deposited at the WH. Having to partake in the garden’s lead-dirt derived produce? They might all run home at that stage!
