Throwing Objects At Politicians Is Wrong Way To Get Attention

Politicians seem to evoke some pretty raw emotions in folks sometimes.  Words are words, and sometimes deserved.  Hurling words of opposition seems to be a historical popular sport, done both to express opinion as much as to provide a catharsis.  Whether the elected actually pays heed remains an entirely different thing however.  Seems like they only actually pay attention to polls more than to an individual act. 

Look to see whether getting a book or a shoe gets an opponent any thought-provoking meaningful response.   President Barrack H. Obama and President George W. Bush got some loving airborne projectiles at them.  Years of target practice was glaringly on display.  Good thing.  It is an offense to hit another physically.  More important, why would anyone waste a good object on an opponent?

Obama has all the books he wants, but does not appear to read or have read any of them.  It is hardly reasonable to think he will read something thrown at him.  Bush was already wearing shoes, two of them.  The man has all the shoes he wants, pairs at that.  Why would he want a third shoe.  Used and smelly, with sand probably. 

People are doing this all wrong.  If you want to get a person’s attention, then throw cash at them.  Lots of it.  Quickly.  Make it rain down!  Want to see people react with lightning speed?  And become your peachy friend instead of foe?  Come on.  Get with reality.  Cash.   Aka,  $ K-A-S-H $!  

They might even start dodging freeway traffic for it.

Mexican Drug Cartel Assassins Plan To Invade Arizona Vekol Valley

Looks like the Vekol Valley may now become home to Mexican nationals illegally in the United States, carrying weapons with the intention of using them to kill anyone who attempts to steal their faux drug load. 

The Vekol Vally is an area outside of Phoenix, Arizona, running from the Mexican border north to Phoenix, across Interstate 9, between Casa Grande and Gila Bend.   It is a major drug smuggling thruway into the U.S., and smugglers don’t like having their loads stolen.  Instead of staying in their own country, 15 have apparently plan to migrate into the valley to pose with burlap-covered boxes, to smoke out bandits who prize their wares, in order to execute them.   

“They have radios, they have optics, they have night-vision goggles as good as anything law enforcement has,” he said. “This is going on here in Arizona. This is 70 to 80 miles from the border — 30 miles from the fifth-largest city in the United States.”

The sheriff said he had asked the Obama administration for 3,000 National Guard soldiers to patrol the border, but instead got 15 signs. He also has confirmed that he got the Homeland Security memo warning of the assassins.

How supportive of the federal government to help out the state of Arizona in protecting itself.

Babeu, who has been seeking money for counter-smuggling operations, said the intelligence memo proves that Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano ”knows exactly what the citizens of Arizona are faced with, yet she continues to publicly state how much safer we all are.”

“I once again ask her to please put politics aside and secure the border or give us the resources,” Babeu said.

The crickets are still chirping.

“This is no longer a law enforcement matter. This is literally a national security threat to our country,” Babeu said.

“These drug cartels are working in tandem to now bring this violence here to America. And this is alarming because to this point, we haven’t seen this, a coordinated response from drug cartels who nearly have toppled the Mexican government,” he said.

Babeu did not give details, but said he has received several similar memos from federal law enforcement agencies about Mexican cartel activity taking place within Arizona’s borders.

“All of these things are proof and evidence that we need help here,” Babeu said. “That it’s not just local law enforcement that needs to fight this. That we do need armed soldiers to the border to stop this. This threat is real.”

How long before the federal government steps up enforcement of immigration and cleans out the criminals from outside America that are hiding in the U.S.,?

Kiddy School Paddy Wagon

Kids in America complain about the school bus ride all the time.  Who hasn’t at one time or another.  The next time your kid starts in on what a wretched experience it is, don’t admonish them and threaten them with walking instead. 

Why no.  Just tell them they might be in line to get transportation to school like their Bal Mandir Public School counterparts across the globe in Dehli, India.  They cheerfully take their daily ride to the institution open air.

Yes Virginia, There Are Things That Are Shovel Ready

Great news: Obama says he’s learned that “there’s no such thing as shovel-ready projects” for public works.  HA.   He really did admit it when he spoke with the NYT on his significant need for an Education of a President.   

he did identify what he called “tactical lessons.” He let himself look too much like “the same old tax-and-spend liberal Democrat.” He realized too late that “there’s no such thing as shovel-ready projects” when it comes to public works.

He can’t be serious.  Oblivious, yes.  This should serve as a hint there is something shovel ready.

National School Lunch Week 2010 And The Spectrum Of Meals

Is your school out to lunch?.  NYP.

It’s National School Lunch Week.  Hooray for school lunches!  The rite of passage for every child in America.  Does this sound familiar?

I think that cheeseburgers that are squished like someone slept on them for a week, mushy and gushy fruit, and milk that tastes sour and smells like a rodeo (or public bathroom) are barf-worthy.

Or do you recall your school lunches more like those of this fifth grader?

Chapin also has unique lunches, such as calico salad, asparagus salad, edamame salad, olive and feta salad, spinach and radicchio salad (notice a healthy pattern here?), fennel slaw, roasted tofu, navy bean soup, ditalini (a k a macaroni) with pesto and broccoli rabe, North African split pea soup . . .

New York cafeteria cuisine.  Just part of the spectrum of offerings. 

Somehow, this little girl does not give the impression she is dissatisfied with her School meal.  Of course, she is child of another era, when food was a commodity of great value in the 1930′s, always to be grateful for until the last crumb was wiped off the plate and eaten.

Civil Rights Panel Requesting DOJ Employees To Testify On VRA Enforcement Policy

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights wants the Obama-led DOJ to pony up information on its ingrained pattern of failing to enforce race neutral laws. 

 ”Since June 2009, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights has sought information from the Department of Justice, much of which the department refused to provide despite its statutory obligation to ‘cooperate fully’ with such commission requests,” the letter says. “Our original aim was to determine the reasons for and implications of DOJ’s dismissal of most of the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation lawsuit and its narrow injunction against the remaining defendant.”

It shouldn’t be too hard for Justice employees to get up on a stand to testify about their actions and rationale.  That is of course if there is truth behind the allegations. 

If the truth will obviate the testimony of Christopher Coates, former DOJ voting rights section head who was summarily reassigned to South Carolina after his insistence on blind justice was shut out by superiors,  and J. Christian Adams, former head of the Blank Panther prosecution team who has since gone into private practice after being held back from fulfilling his job, then the Department of Justice has nothing to worry about.

Take a look.  Superiors had everything to do with quashing the Black Panther case, even though attorney Coates was ready to proceed.  Justice’s Panther pursuer to testify on case.  WT.

The decision to dismiss the civil complaint came from then-acting Assistant Attorney General Loretta King after an April 2009 meeting with Associate Attorney General Thomas J. Perrelli, the department’s No. 3 political appointee, according to interviews with lawyers familiar with the case.

The chain of command tainted by selective enforcement goes further.  EDITORIAL: No black hole for Black Panthers.  WT. 

Attorney General Julie Fernandes told employees of the Voting Rights Section that the department would not enforce certain portions of voting laws. Mr. Coates said Ms. Fernandes told staff in September 2009, “the Obama administration was only interested in bringing traditional types of [Voting Rights Act] Section 2 cases” – meaning only those that protected minorities, not ones that protect whites.

A little background on the superiors who have enabled the Black Panther case to escape prosecution.  Justice Dept. subpoenaed in New Black Panthers case.  WT. 

• Attorney General Eric Holder, appointed by President Barack Obama.
• Acting-Assistant Attorney General Loretta King, appointed by President Barack Obama. 
• Associate Attorney General Thomas Perrelli, Obama school chum from Harvard, number 3 position at DOJ,  raised $500,000 for Obama for president.

The DOJ leaders’ political alliances do not help them appear justice blind.  Makes one wonder the DOJ’s legal justification in enforcing the Voting Rights Act of 1965, since reading it clearly shows it was designed to apply and protect everyone.  Not just favored folks.

Democrats Go After GOP Contributers Via DOJ And IRS

Shutting Up Business.  WSJ.

Is there anything else to demonstrate the integrity of a person?  Now now.  Look at President Barack Obama.  Happily cheering on the IRS to go after 501(c)’s because they might be accepting foreign campaign donations.  Allowing foreigners to influence American elections.  Forgetting how he did the very same thing in 2008.

That didn’t stop President Obama from raising the issue in a Maryland speech last week, saying that “groups that receive foreign money are spending huge sums to influence American elections.” Within hours of the ThinkProgress report, the bully boys at MoveOn.org asked the Department of Justice to launch a criminal investigation of the Chamber. In a letter to the Federal Election Commission, Minnesota Senator Al Franken expressed his profound concern that “foreign corporations are indirectly spending significant sums to influence American elections through third-party groups.” From the man who stole his Senate election in a dubious recount, this is rich.

Their goal.

Democrats claim only to favor “disclosure” of donors, but their legal intimidation attempts are the best argument against disclosure. Liberals want the names of business donors made public so they can become targets of vilification with the goal of intimidating them into silence. A CEO or corporate board is likely to think twice about contributing to a campaign fund if the IRS or prosecutors might come calling.

Hypocrisy.  Since it is okay to go after businesses for donations too.

pardon our skepticism given the ferocity of this White House-led campaign against businesses that donate to political campaigns. Faced with electoral repudiation as the public turns against their agenda, Democrats are unleashing government power to silence their political opponents. Instead of piling on, the press corps ought to blow the whistle on this attempt to stifle political speech. This is one more liberal abuse of power that voters should consider as they head to the polls.

Let’s go back and see.
