Name A Roach For Your Valentine Gift Idea

Name a roach after your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day.  Mother Nature Network.  Hurry now!  50,000 cockroaches in need of a name!

“Nothing says forever like a cockroach,” said Jim Breheny, senior vice president for Living Institutions and director of the Bronx Zoo, in a statement. “They are resourceful, resilient, and have been around for hundreds of millions of years.”

Accordingly, the Bronx Zoo is having a Name A Roach contest.  Flowers wilt. Chocolates melt. Roaches are forever.  A worthy treasure indeed.  Ponder all the legacies that will herafter populate this earth as  a result. 

We’ll send a truly memorable certificate of honor to that certain someone explaining that there’s a special insect living at the Bronx Zoo with his or her name on it.

Anyone would be proud to have their namesake attached to a giant, hissing Madagascar cockroach.  You wanna see?  It will cost only $10.  Then have the video camera out to capture your special Valentine’s recoiling moment.
