Finger Synching At The Inauguration

Hot Air’s The Milli Vanilli Inauguration exposes yet another hypocrisy in the political staged events that are actually not quite the revered and dignified events most might think.  Seems like the musical quartet was not quite “live.”

…they faked a live performance. No one doubts that Itzhak Perlman and Yo-Yo Ma can perform the piece, but it shouldn’t have been presented as a live performance if it wasn’t. It’s dishonest. Doesn’t anyone on the CCIC know that, or does the word Congressional automatically disable that knowledge?

Turns out it’s true.  The Frigid Fingers Were Live, but the Music Wasn’t at the NY Times.  The artists indeed recorded their exquisite performance two days prior.  In the comfort of warmth indoors.  Where frigid temperatures were not likely to trigger stiff fingers and instruments, that could defile the perfect tones.  So off to the recoding studio and out through the beauty of programmed television.

Just another perfectly staged political performance courtesy of the Barack Obama Team, where presentation is indeed more valuable than the real McCoy.
